AAI signs MoU with Akshay Patra for Mid-Day Meal
The Airport Authority of India and NGO Akshay Patra today signed a Memorandum of Understanding for providing Mid Day Meal to students of Hazaribagh and Ramgarh district. With this Hazaribagh became only the 12th district of the country which will provide quality mid-day meal to more than 56 lakhs government school students of both Hazaribagh and Ramgarh district.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Hazaribagh MP cum MoS Jayant Sinha at Suchna Bhawan. The airport authority of India will spend Rs 20 crore through its CSR fund here to erect a modern kitchen in which the mid-day meal will be cooked. The representative of Akshay Patra said that the organization is already serving in the State of Assam, Maharashtra, MP and Gujarat. In many states the construction work of kitchens is going on and soon we will start serving their too.
The officials of AAI said that their organization will construct the modern kitchen for cooking mid-day meal and will spent Rs 20 crore here. They said that Jayant Sinha has made a request to contribute in Hazaribagh through its CSR fund, which was approved by the members.
They said that by 2019 the construction work will be completed and the denizens of Hazaribagh can hope that from 2019 their kids will start getting quality mid-day meal in the schools of Ramgarh and Hazaribagh districts.
The NGO Akshay Patra, which is serving in many states, provides mid-day meal to the students which costs them Rs 9 per plate. The government gives only Rs 5 per plate for mid-day meal. The NGO arranges Rs 4 from donations and thus gives quality food to the students.
