Liverpool news: Alan Smith makes big Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain transfer revelation
LIVERPOOL signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was a strange decision from Jurgen Klopp and he would be better off back at Arsenal.
That is the view of Sky Sports pundit and Arsenal legend Alan Smith.
Oxlade-Chamberlain switched the Gunners for Liverpool on transfer deadline day for an initial £35million.
The midfielder has made just six starts for the Reds, coming off the bench on 19 other occasions.
He has lost his place in Gareth Southgate’s recent England squads due to his lack of football under Klopp.

Is he better off than he was at Arsenal? Not sure really. He doesn’t seem to be
The 24-year-old had started Arsenal’s first four league games of the season before he moved to Anfield and Smith says he is no better off than when he was playing under Arsene Wenger.
“It did seem like a strange move,” Smith said.
“Not for him so much but from Jurgen Klopp, you wonder whether he actually needed a player like the Ox, of his style.
“He is finding it hard to find a regular starting place. It’s been up and down for him, I thought he did quite well in the Merseyside derby actually, put in one or two crosses, worked hard.

“But as you say, with the fab four and (Philippe) Coutinho performing a role a bit deeper quite often now.
“(Adam) Lallana’s not got back into the side yet and when he is fit you’d imagine he is going to be ahead of Alex for a starting place.
“And then it’s where he plays, he’d prefer to play in the middle and Jurgen Klopp has quite often played him in a wide position.
