A San Antonio man was arrested Thursday after police said he didn't complete a roofing job he was paid to do a year and a half ago.

A 66-year-old woman agreed to pay Johnny Trevino, 53, to replace her roof in the summer of 2016, according to an arrest affidavit.

Trevino allegedly agreed to do the job for $6,000, but told the woman she needed to pay $3,500 up front.

The woman cut a cashier's check for Trevino, who cashed the check within the same day, according to the affidavit.

Trevino allegedly drove to the woman's house a few days after she paid him, leaving sheet metal that doesn't match her roof before driving off again.

Weeks went by before the woman began contacting Trevino to see why the job hasn't been done yet.

Police believe he intentionally avoided her by picking up the phone and hanging it up quickly without speaking to her.
