Liverpool news: Shaka Hislop makes bold Jurgen Klopp claim

LIVERPOOL will bounce back with victory over Bournemouth this weekend but it will not be easy for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Liverpool news: Bournemouth will be a tricky game for Jurgen Klopp, says Hislop

That is the view of ESPN FC pundit and former West Ham goalkeeper Shaka Hislop.

Liverpool have drawn their last two Premier League games against Everton and West Brom, both at Anfield.

The Reds are still level on points with fourth-place Tottenham in the race for the Champions League spots, but now find themselves 18 points adrift of runaway leaders Manchester City.

Hislop is not expecting a comfortable afternoon for Liverpool on Sunday at the Vitality Stadium (4.30pm).

I just feel going to Bournemouth, small ground, Liverpool haven’t been great of late

He says a combination of their poor form and a tight pitch on the south coast will affect Jurgen Klopp’s side’s chances.

However, he has backed Liverpool to get the job done because Klopp needs a response from his players.

“I’m really not sure about this, I really am,” Hislop said.

“I just feel going to Bournemouth, small ground, Liverpool haven’t been great of late.

Liverpool news: Hislop has backed the Reds to get the job done against Bournemouth

“I’m tempted to go for the draw but the thing is Liverpool have been so poor by their standards of late.

“I’m expecting a response and I’m sure Klopp gets it out of his team.

“That is the only reason (I’m going for Liverpool), any other time I would have gone Bournemouth.”

Liverpool will hope for a better visit to Bournemouth than they had last season, where they conceded three goals in the final 15 minutes to lose 4-3.
