BENGALURU: Aadhaar number is not mandatory for writing SSLC exams. Following the directions from the High Court, the state department of public instructions has removed the clause mandating to provide Aadhaar number for SSLC exams.

Earlier this year, Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) had made it mandatory for students to mention Aadhaar number while filling their online application form for SSLC exams scheduled to be held during March and April 2018. But, some students had approached the court against this, and the HC gave a decision in their favour. When contacted, Board officials confirmed it, saying Aadhaar number will not be mandatory for obtaining the hall tickets.
