Ravindra Jadeja became third Indian player to hit six sixes in an over.

Ravindra Jadeja hit six sixes an over of a Saurashtra Cricket Association tournament and joined elite list of cricketers who have managed to do that in either local or international matches. While Yuvraj Singh is the first name which comes to the mind, there are as many as five other players who have done the same. Yuvraj hit six consecutive sixes in the World T20 fixture against England in 2007. In the same year, Herschelle Gibbs cleared the ropes on six consecutive deliveries in the 2007 World Cup match against the Netherlands. Only Yuvraj and Gibbs have done it at international level while Sir Garfield Sobers and Ravi Shastri managed the rare feat in a first-class match. Alex Hales is also on the list as he hit six consecutive sixes, but not in an over. Misbah-ul-Haq also hit six consecutive sixes in a Hong Kong T20 Blitz fixture. Players who have hit six consecutive sixes:

Yuvraj Singh: Yuvraj Singh hammered six consecutive sixes in an over against England in Durban during the inaugural World T20 in South Africa. The southpaw achieved the rare feat when he deposited the ball six times over the ropes off the bowling of Stuart Broad. In the process, Yuvraj also notched up the fastest half-century across all formats on the international front (12 balls). India eventually scored 218/4 in 20 overs and later restricted England to 200 to win the match by 18 runs.

Herschelle Gibbs: South Africa batsman Herschelle Gibbs became the first batsman in international cricket to smash six consecutive maximums in an over. This was after Gibbs hammered Netherlands Dan van Bunge for six sixes in one over in St. Kitts during the World Cup in 2007

Sir Garfield Sobers: West Indies legend, Sir Garfield Sobers became the first man in the history of cricket to record six sixes in an over. Sobers achieved the feat way back in 1968 during a first-class match between Nottinghamshire and Glamorgan where he smashed Malcolm Nash for six maximums.

Ravi Shastri: After 16 years, since Sobers achieved the rare feat, Ravi Shastri made history when he hit six consecutive sixes during a Ranji Trophy match between Bombay and Baroda in 1985. Baroda bowler, Tilak Raj, was at the receiving end as Shastri also hit a double century in the same match.

Alex Hales: England opener Alex Hales scored six consecutive sixes but they didn’t come in one single over. Hales feat came during the Natwest T20 Blast match between Nottinghamshire and Birmingham Bears where he notched up an unbeaten 86 and anchored his side to an eight-wicket win.

Misbah-ul-Haq: Former Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq hit six sixes while playing for Hong Kong Island United in the Hong Kong T20 Blitz. However, he too did not score six sixes in one over. He first scored two maximums came off Imran Arif in the 19th over and then smashed Ashly Caddy for four more in the final over.
