
Chiyaan Vikram announcement the title of the film last month after generating a frenzy on social media with his puzzling Instagram posts. The movie is directed by Bala, who provided a launchpad for Vikram through his debut directorial and fetched him a national award for Pithumagan.
Varma, which is currently under the final stages of pre-production work, is being produced by Mukesh Mehta under his home banner E4E Entertainment. DOP Sukumar, known for his work in Mynaa and Thalapathy Vijay’s Bairavaa to name a few, has been signed to wield the camera for this highly-anticipated romance drama. “I’m excited to work in the film. I have worked with Bala sir in Suriya’s ‘Nandha’ sixteen years back as a photographer on the project. And, I know Dhruv from his childhood days. I’ve witnessed his growth and have taken this photographs from age six. I’m happy to stand behind the camera for his acting debut,” Sukumar had exclusively told Bollywood Life earlier. ALSO READ:
The Telugu version was directed by debutant filmmaker Sandeep Vanga and featured Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in the lead roles. Now the makers of Varma are busy sifting through various options to lock the female lead for the Tamil version. The team has also not finalized the music composer of the film, whose principal cast and crew will be announced later.
