Matt Schaub
BEFORE:Widely regarded as the NFL’s top backup when the Texans acquired him in a 2007 trade, Schaub had taken his last snap for the Texans when O’Brien was hired on Jan. 3, 2014. Houston made the playoffs in two of Schaub’s seven seasons and won postseason games in 2011 and 2012, though T.J. Yates started in the 2011 playoff triumph. The team went 2-14 with Schaub starting 10 games in 2013. When O’Brien was hired, the Texans traded Schaub to Oakland a fourth-round draft pick.

One year and 12 starts later, the Texans traded Fitzpatrick to the Jets for a late-round conditional draft pick. He had passed for an average of 206.9 yards per game to go with 17 touchdowns and eight interceptions with the Texans.

Ryan Mallett
BEFORE:With Fitzpatrick slated to be the starter in the 2014 season opener, the Texans traded for New England back-up Ryan Mallett. He played in nine games for the Texans during the 2014 and 2015 seasons. He eventually ruined his chance by showing up late for meetings and missing the team’s charter flight to an away game. Houston released him on Oct. 27, 2015.

Case Keenum
BEFORE:Local football fans knew all about Keenum before he signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2012 due to his record-setting career at the University of Houston. Keenum had a few nice moments early in his eight-game tenure as Texans starter in 2013 before the club waived him to make roster space for Ryan Mallett. Keenum spent much of the 2014 season with the Rams before the Texans brought him back, signing him off of the Rams’ practice squad that December.

Brian Hoyer
BEFORE:Hoyer was on four NFL rosters before signing a two-year $10.5 million contract with the Texans in March 2015. Hoyer’s signing did not stop O’Brien from naming Mallett the starter. Hoyer only took over when Mallett got injured in week five. Hoyer started the rest of the games and led the Texans to their first playoff berth since 2012. That’s where Hoyer’s tenure ended. He threw four interceptions in a playoff game against Kansas City and then was released in April 2016.

Brock Osweiler
BEFORE:Desperate for a difference-maker at quarterback, the Texans gambled on Osweiler when they signed him to a four-year $72 million deal ($37 million guaranteed). Osweiler started seven games (a 5-2 record) for the Broncos in 2015 after Peyton Manning injured his foot. Osweiler started 14 games for the Texans in 2016 before being benched in favor of Tom Savage. He came back after Savage got injured and started both of the Texans' playoff games before being traded to the Cleveland Browns.

T.J. Yates
BEFORE:Yates’ 2015 stint with the Texans under O’Brien was his second with the team. Houston picked him in the fifth round of the 2011 draft, and he started five regular season games after Matt Leinart broke his collarbone. Also that season, Yates etched his name in Texans lore as an all-time good guy after leading the team to its first playoff victory – a 31-10 victory over the Bengals on Jan. 7, 2012. In the summer of 2014 the Texans traded Yates to the Falcons for linebacker Akeem Dent.

Texans quarterbacks: Where are they now?
The Texans have had 10 different starting quarterbacks in Bill O'Brien's four seasons in Houston. Surprisingly, all 10 of those quarterbacks are still in the NFL and five of them have started games this season.
Most of those guys are all backups with other teams and have only started when pressed into duty because of an injury, but Case Keenum is the exception.
Originally, Keenum started for the Vikings because of an injury to Sam Bradford, but now he's the bona fide starter for one of the best teams in the league.
The guy who set all kinds of passing records at the University of Houston and became a fan favorite with the Texans, despite not experiencing a lot of team success, is looking like the comeback story of the year. He was the NFC Offensive Player of the Month for November, and he has the Vikings at 10-3 and on the verge of winning the NFC North title.
Browse through the photos above to see how all of Bill O'Brien's former quarterbacks are doing at their current locations.
