Asian Town is all set to celebrate Qatar National Day with an array of festive activities, Ibn Ajayan Projects (IAP), managers of Asian Town, has announced.
The series of events that reflect the country's heritage, culture, and traditions are organised at Asian Town by IAP including community events to be held in association with Ministry of Interior.
Traditional Arabic sword dance Al Ardha, will take place in front of Plaza Mall from 6pm to 9pm on National Day. Al Ardha is a celebratory dance that symbolises strength and unity, where all visitors will be welcomed and encouraged to participate alongside the dancers, a true representation of solidarity within the community.
There will also be Debka, Thanoora, Stilt Walker, Kawa (Arabic Coffee) Takers following the Ardha performance.
The programs are organised in different locations of Asian Town, including outside yard at cricket stadium, entrance of Plaza Mall gates, and others.
There is a stage show by Nepali artists, 'Bhojpuri Maithili Night, inside the Asian Town Amphitheater on national Day.
Asian Town Cricket stadium is also prepared to entertain the cricket lovers in Qatar as it is scheduled for three international matches on tomorrow, on Saturday and on National Day.
World cricket stars from India, Pakistan, Srilanka and Bangladesh are playing on Asian Town Cricket Stadium ground in these days. On the National Day the entry is free for public. Other events include school Scouts and community teams performance and music concert by the Pakistani community. There will also be free blood sugar checkup for the public.
The preparations are in full swing and the whole Asian Town is getting a makeover with all the streets getting adorned with the national flags.
