CM unveils many development projects

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat unveiled the foundation for various development projects worth Rs  5.42 crore at Transport Nagar here on Wednesday. These include the road construction work in phase-1 and phase-2 along with sewerage treatment plant and sewer line for phase-2 in Transport Nagar. Construction cost of the roads in phase-1 and phase-2 is 2.45 crore while sewer line and sewerage treatment plant will cost Rs  1.55 crore and Rs 1.42 crore respectively.

The CM also launched the online building map approval system and monitoring dashboard to provide required facilities to the public and to ensure enhanced transparency in the process of passing the building maps by the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA). Rawat also announced that Transport Nagar will be handed over to the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Rawat said that Uttarakhand had taken its steps towards fulfilling the prime minister’s vision of digital India.

The State  Government has initiated biometric attendance in Government offices from the secretariat to the smaller offices in districts while also making procedures online. A dashboard has also been launched in MDDA for online approval to building maps, complaints and suggestions. The state government is attempting to further improve the system while also preventing corruption, for which public support is of vital importance. He said that efforts to improve the system had been started from the secretariat to bring about improvement from the top level.

Now, the processing of files in the secretariat involves four desks instead of seven, he said. Making various government works online will not only help expedite the works but will also help improve the system. The chief minister also informed the gathering about various public welfare measures taken by the state government in different sectors.

It was stated on the occasion that the new website facility of the MDDA is also mobile enabled for site inspection. Colour coding has been implemented to denote the status of action taken by MDDA officials on the building map submitted for approval.

This will provide detailed information on various aspects related to the particular case including the action and time taken by the official concerned. MDDA staff who perform well will be awarded gold and silver medals on January 26 and August 15.

Officials will have to expedite the files in 15 days. The state housing and urban development minister Madan Kaushik, Dehradun mayor and MLA Vinod Chamoli, MDDA vice chairman Ashish Kumar Srivastav and other officials were also present on the eve.
