1 dies as Pesu wall collapses in city

PATNA: A construction worker lost his life after the boundary wall of a government office fell on him in the Kadamkuan police station area on Thursday evening.


Police said the incident took place at Machhua Toli when the boundary wall of the Patna Electricity Supply Undertaking (Pesu) office fell on the construction worker while construction work was going on at a private land adjacent to the Pesu office.


Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited DGM (public relations) Hareram Pandey said the tragedy took place because the builder did not take precaution while excavating the land adjacent to the Pesu office.


Patna DM Sanjay Agarwal announced an ex gratia of Rs 4 lakh to the family of the deceased. He also ordered a probe into the incident.
