Recent robberies have some Wheeling residents feeling on edge

WHEELING, W Va. - With three Marathon robberies happening in less than a month, some Wheeling residents are feeling a little on edge.
But most still believe Wheeling is a great, safe city.
Sometimes things just happen.
That's why it's important to always lock your doors, avoid going places alone at night, and take precautions.
Several residents told 7News they're not surprised gas stations keep getting hit.
They believe the problem stems from drugs, meaning people are desperate for money to fuel their addiction, so they're hitting the "easiest targets".
"I feel safe. It's just that certain places might be easy targets for some people. It's going to vary and it's going to change from time to time," said Ron Sacco, a Wheeling resident.
"I think that our police are doing a fabulous job. There's only so much they can do and also, I think that people are hyper alert. I think that we're a safe community, a very safe community around here," added Erin McKitrick, a Wheeling resident:
Of course, if you do see something suspicious, it's important to tell someone.
Residents believe we can make Wheeling a little safer if we work together.
