"The EC had yesterday promised that they will take action against PM Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, who violated the Model Code of Conduct. Today, though, the EC is saying they will take action after polling closes," says Randeep S Surjewala, Congress' national spokesperson.

"Why has the Election Commission turned a blind eye towards Amit Shah's press conference yesterday at a public property like Ahmedabad airport. The Chief Election Commissioner, Achal Kumar Joti, who worked as the chief secretary to then CM Narendra Modi, continues to act like Modi's personal secretary, despite him holding a constitutional post," says Randeep S Surjewala, Congress' national spokesperson.

39% average voter turnout has been recorded until noon during the Gujarat Assembly Elections 2017. 28.15% voter turnout in Anand district and 31% voting in Baroda district. Meanwhile, 31.95% turnout has been recorded in Arvalli district.

Congress alleges that BJP prepared in advance as thousands of people assemble outside the voting booth in Ranip. "PM Narendra Modi held a roadshow after casting his vote, when he walked alongside his motorcade for a stretch and acknowledged the crowd," says Congress, before adding that they will raise a complaint with the Election Commission.
