EastEnders spoilers: Max Branning to LEAVE BBC soap? Jake Wood teases exit
EASTENDERS actor Jake Wood has coyly hinted toward the undoing of his character, Max Branning.
Recent scenes have shown the villainous businessman reach breaking point in his pursuit of vengeance.
Jake discussed a possible end to his time as Max during an interview on today’s episode of This Morning.
As Phillip Schofield interrogated the actor about his potential exit, Jake didn’t confirm he’d be remaining in the soap.
The host questioned: “How long’s your contract?”

Jake, 45, insisted he had no idea.
“I don’t know, get my agent on the phone,” he jested.
The 55-year-old presenter marvelled at the actor’s ability to skilfully dance around his cross-examination, suggesting his avoidance was "beautifully" done.

Phillip continued to probe: “If there isn’t redemption, are you going be back here talking about a theatre career?”
Jake retorted: “I’ve always felt that he can be [redeemed], you know, because I’ve always felt that what he’s done has come from a genuine feeling of being done wrong.”
However, the actor admitted Max may have gone to far in his scheming which could lead to his downfall and eventual exit.
“But obviously the things he’s done, they’re not the best things.”
It has been confirmed that Max's daughters Abi (Lorna Fitzgerald) and Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) are leaving the soap over Christmas.
Will he follow suit?
EastEnders continues tonights at 7.30pm on BBC One.
