Wilshere made his first Premier League start of the season during the goalless draw at the London Stadium.
And the midfielder thoroughly impressed while trying to move the Gunners through the gears.
But in the end he was unable to provide the breakthrough as Arsenal slipped down to seventh in the table.
Wilshere has been restricted to mainly substitute appearances this season and there was talk that he may be allowed to leave the Emirates Stadium in January.

Jack did well, overall, for a first game, especially in the first half.
But after his latest performance, Wenger hinted that the may be tempted to keep the 25-year-old.
“Jack did well, overall, for a first game, especially in the first half,” Wenger told Match of the Day.
“He could add some sharpness but he defended well as well so overall for a first game it’s satisfying.
"He played well and created many movements forward in the first half.
“He needs regular football and I've said that many times.
“He's been patient and he's been rewarded.
“What he did tonight is positive.”
With Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez also looking likely to leave in January, Wenger may be more inclined to keep Wilshere.
The midfielder will be hoping to have done enough to keep his place against Newcastle on Saturday (3pm).
