Letter: Delegation represents worst of our politics
Updated 7:33 am, Thursday, December 14, 2017
How could Rep. John Faso, R-Kinderhook, and the rest of the New York state GOP delegation to the House of Representatives vote for a measure allowing residents of other states to carry concealed weapons in New York? How could they care so little about the safety of New Yorkers and of law enforcement? How could they, after seeing all the gun violence across America, vote to allow the spread of it into our state? Are the dollars they receive from the National Rifle Association more important than keeping New Yorkers secure? While I won't be able to match the dollars they suck from the teat of the gun lobby, I do pledge now that I will donate to whomever runs against them in 2018 and I hope my neighbors do the same. They represent the worst of American politics.
