Watch this iconic Coronation Street star make their soap debut on Emmerdale

ITV soap fans will know that a lot of their favourite stars have jumped from soap to soap over the years.

Some are more well-known, such as Claire King giving up her iconic character Kim Tate to move to Weatherfield, Denise Black leaving her role as Denise Osbourne to become Joanie Dingle.

But one soap star which you not have realised made the move is Jennie McAlpine, who plays Fiz Brown.

She actually made her soap debut on Emmerdale as Michelle Morley back in 1999.

FIRST SOAP JOB: Jennie first appeared on Emmerdale back in 1999

Appearing in three episodes, Jennie had a brief stint on the soap before joining Corrie in 2001.

Her character is the midst of some serious drama as she is suspicious that her daughter Ruby may have been the one to set Pat Phelan's house on fire.

Jennie is set to make to make an on-screen departure to make time for her stint in the I'm A Celebrity jungle.

REALITY TV: Jennie came fourth in this year's I'm A Celeb

She will receive the news that her mum Cilla is in hospital after a fall and needs her by her side over Christmas.

The actress got to fourth place, but eventually lost out to Made in Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo.

Speaking about her time in the jungle, Jennie said: "Honestly, I feel totally delirious. The support from the Corrie guys and all the support on Twitter, I can't keep up with it."

Jennie is set to return to Corrie in early 2018.

It continues tomorrow at 7.30pm on ITV.
