The Downtown Pie Five Pizza Co. at Washington and Pennsylvania streets closed Sunday, and a Five Guys burger restaurant is expected to open in that location.
The build-your-own-pie restaurant at 48 E. Washington St., a hot spot for lunch, was one of two franchise locations in the state, Pie Five spokeswoman Jami Zimmerman said.
The chain's business is doing well, she said, but didn't specify why the location closed.
A second Pie Five in Zionsville won't be affected, Zimmerman said.

A representative with Five Guys burgers said the fast-casual burger restaurant will open some time in 2018, but couldn't specify when.
Pie Five's Downtown location had been in business for nearly two and a half years, taking over a spot occupied once by Dunkin' Donuts and Panda Express. Before that, the store remained empty for a number of years after its most notable tenant: Roselyn Bakery.
There were 34 Roselyn Bakery shops in Central Indiana before the chain was shut down in 1999 after it was discovered that the bakery's production facility violated more than 40 health violations. Health inspectors found flour-coated rodents, hundreds of dead insects, animal waste and stagnant water inside the facility.
