Postdoctoral position: Transcriptional Control in neural Development
Stockholm University, Sweden, invites applications for one postdoctoral position in the laboratory of Assistant Professor Qi Dai at the Department of Molecular Biosciences, The Wenner-Gren Institute (http://www.su.se/mbw). The position is scheduled to start as soon as possible.
In the developing nervous system, cell fates are specified in a spatial and temporal fashion by signaling molecules and transcription factors. Mutations in these key players consequently lead to developmental abnormality, and are often associated with human disease. This project aims to decode spatial-temporal regulatory network in the developing mouse brain. The candidate will use molecular, genetic and state of art genomic assays to identify novel key regulators and elucidate the functions of such factors in neurogenesis.
The position is available immediately and requires a recent Ph.D in the field of Developmental Biology or Neurobiology, as well as extensive experience in molecular biology. The ideal candidate should have documented experience in mouse genetics and brain tissue manipulation. The successful applicant should have a high-quality publication record, and motivation to study underlying mechanisms of gene regulation in development. Hands-on experience in work with cell culture and in high-throughput assays will be an asset. The position will be funded with a fellowship, and includes health insurance.
Stockholm University is one of the largest and most prominent universities in Sweden, located in the nation’s capital city, beautifully surrounded by the first national city park in the world. For further information, see http://www.su.se/english/ and http://www.academicstockholm.se/
