BENGALURU: Murder-accused journalist Ravi Belagere was admitted to the intensive care unit of Jayadeva Hospital here on Thursday due to a spike in his blood sugar levels.

On Wednesday he was granted interim bail after he was arrested on the charges of hiring a hitman to murder his colleague Sunil Heggaravalli. The bail was granted on the grounds of his ill health.

His family members said his blood sugar levels had been repeatedly rising and falling over the past two days. He underwent check-ups at Karnataka Institute of Diabetology (KID), which then referred him to Jayadeva Hospital.
