DDC sent team for Parhaiyyas

Deputy Development Commissioner of Palamu Sushant Gaurav has taken note of the plight and the will of the primitive tribe Parhaiyya at Gamarhya and Bhusarya villages after The Pioneer carried a story on Wednesday on how a president award winner retired teacher Heera Nand Pathak is trying to better their condition.

The DDC said, “I have asked four officials to take stock of the situation in these villages and also to understand the ground realities there in the context of the PTG living there.”

He further added, “The team of officials that has been assigned the task to inspect and report within two days comprises dairy development officer, animal husbandry officer, agricultural officer and one scientist from BAU’s research centre in Chiyanki. The team will carry out intensive assessment of the places with a view to uplifting the socio economic status of Parhaiyya.”

DDC also said that based on the report, the administration would chalk out its plan of action. Pathak was awarded by the President in 2012 for his commitment to social service.
