Pratapgarh: A truck hit a scooter on Thursday killing a woman and her daughter, police said. According to Antu police station in-charge Paan Singh, the accident took place at Banda Chauraha and the the deceased have been identified as Shiv Kumari (45) and her daughter Seema (22).

A 30-year-old youth, Dharmendra Kumar, sustained serious injuries, and was undergoing treatment, he added. The bodies were sent for post-mortem, he added.

"All the three were riding the scooter. The accident took place, when the scooter tried to overtake the truck," Singh said.
