TORONTO — The hunt is on for a gun-toting bank robber who threatened to shoot a teller during a heist in the Beaches last month.

Toronto Police have now released images of a man sought for the gunpoint robbery that occurred on Nov. 10.

A man entered the bank around 5:15 p.m., waited in line and then approached the teller, Const. Christine Warner, of the Hold Up Squad, said in a statement Thursday.

“He made a verbal demand for money,” she said, explaining the crook then pulled out a black handgun and “pointed it at the teller.”

“He threatened to shoot her,” Warner added.

The bandit fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Investigators have released bank security camera video of a suspect hoping members of the public can help identify him.

In the footage, the man is seen casually walking up to the counter.

He then quickly draws a pistol from the pocket of his winter coat, aggressively leans forward taking aim at someone off-camera, snatches what appears to be cash and strolls off.

He is described as 45 to 55 years old, about 5-foot-10, with a thin build and clean-shaven.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Holdup Squad at 416-808-7350 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
