Boost to MP's tech schemes; hospitals to be expanded

The State Cabinet on Tuesday took several important decisions to strengthen the science and technology sector in the state. The Cabinet has made amendments in the structure of posts in the Centre of Excellence under the MAP IT and gave approval for total 28 posts by approving additional posts.

The Cabinet has given a sanction in principle for continuation of public finance programmes, schemes and projects being financially sponsored by State Wide Area Network (SWAN) run by the Science and Technology Department.

Moreover, the Cabinet has given an approval in principle for continuing the State Data Centre Building Project. The Cabinet has also given an approval for continuation of the State Government's scheme for effective implementation to facilitate citizens from district level to tahsil level with all the information technology projects for coordination, publicity of e-governance, competency and schemes being run through e-governance society.

The Cabinet decided for upgradation of District Hospital, Morena, from 300 to 600 beds, Shivpuri from 300 to 400 beds, Sheopur from 100 to 200 and Indore from 100 to 300 beds out of 11 urban health institutions.

Similarly, 60-bed Civil Hospital, Dabra, becomes 100-bedded, 30-bed Community Health Centre of Berasia, Mandideep, Nasrullahganj and Bamore will be upgraded to 50-bed hospital. Moreover, an approval has been given for new 30-bed Community Health Centres in Makroniya Buzurg- Sagar urban area and in Mangilal Churiya district Indore hospital of Indore urban area.

Out of 27 Rural Health Institutions, the Cabinet has given approval for upgradation/establishment of 5 primary health centers into 30-bed community health centre and 21 sub-health centre into Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and New Born Care (CEmONC) community health centre.

In addition to this, approval has been given for establishment of trauma centre with posts in 51 district hospitals.

Moreover, in order to extend health facilities in the State, approval has also been given for creation of 3571 posts.

Furthermore, the Cabinet has granted permission for building construction of the institutions, equipments and furniture.

 The Cabinet has taken a decision to provided State Government's guarantee for short-term loan of Rs 1500 crore received by all the 3 power distribution companies of the State from the Power Finance Corporation. The power distribution companies will pay the guarantee fee at the rate of 0.5 percent per annum to the State Government.

The Cabinet has given approval by increasing scholarship amount of Rs 15 per month to Rs 25 payable to the girls of Class 1 to 5 belonging to Scheduled Tribe and boys belonging to special backward tribe.

Similarly, approval for scholarship of Rs 60 per month in place of Rs 50 to girls of Class 6 to 8 has been given.
