Strictly Come Dancing 2017: Gemma's performance in JEOPARDY as she makes shock admission
STRICTLY COME DANCING star Gemma Atkinson could find herself missing out on the chance to lift the Glitterball trophy in the final due to one move in her show dance.
The former Emmerdale star opened up to Sara Cox on BBC Radio 2 this morning about her pre-dance rituals alongside professional partner Aljaž Škorjanec.
She explained: “I don’t get nervous with the music, I always say to Aljaž that the thing that makes me nervous is ‘Dancing the Jive is Gemma Atkinson’.
“As soon as you hear that guy’s voice I go, ‘Oh gosh,’ but when the music kicks in I just go for it.”
“And I always like to look at Aljaž before each dance because we’ve started the dances facing each other,” she continued.

“If I look at him, I think it’s just me and him and I can do it. If I’m not facing him, the wheels come off.”
Aljaž confirmed that Gemma struggles if they begin their routine without looking at each other, telling Sara: “It’s true actually.
“There’s only one dance, the one dance on Strictly that we didn’t start looking at each other, and that was the Jive, and you forgot the first step.”
Sara then asked if the pair would not be facing each other in one of their final routines on Saturday.

“Yes the show dance,” Gemma admitted, “I’m on my own but he’s in my eye line.”
Could the change in tradition mean the soap star’s performance is in jeopardy as she prepares to perform for the final time?
The Strictly Come Dancing Final airs Saturday on BBC One at 6.30pm.
