Producer Ritesh Sidhwani has confirmed that Deepika Padukone will not be a part of Don 3. The news was made official by the Excel Entertainment’s chief when he addressed the media during  the success party of Fukrey Returns.

Sidhwani stated he and his team are at present working on the film, and that an announcement is due sometime soon.

Amitabh Bachchan’s Don was rebooted in 2006 with Shah Rukh Khan reprising the role in Don: The Chase Begins Again and, then again, in Don 2 in 2011. A subtle hint for a third installment in the franchise was given towards the end of the sequel.

Both films went on to become big hits at the box office with many fans excited about a third part in the franchise.
