Nitish Kumar Singh Rank 23, UPSC IAS Topper 2017, has shared his story of success in UPSC IAS Exam. His story of success in IAS Exam will inspire the future IAS aspirants who are verge to become an IAS officer in near future. He is a resident of Kathitand in Ratu in Jharkhand. He is a native of Plamu district in Jharkhand but lives in Kathitand in Ranchi, Jharkhand. His father, Prayag Singh is a retired serviceman and his mother is a housewife. He credits his success in UPSC IAS Exam to his family.

Academically, Nitish was a good student throughout his school days. He scored 97% marks in Class 10 from DAV School in Bhawanathpur and 90% marks in Class 12 from DPS. He has done B. Tech from Indian School of Mining (ISM) Dhanbad in 2013 then he started preparing for UPSC Civil Services Exam. Initially, he joined coaching classes for IAS preparation but he emphasised more on self-study and he thinks self-study helped him a lot to get success in the IAS Exam. His optional subject was History.
