Strictly Come Dancing 2017: Alexandra Burke issued APOLOGY over voting ahead of finale
STRICTLY COME DANCING star Alexandra Burke was issued an apology by Chris Evans on his BBC Radio 2 breakfast show yesterday.
The host noted that he was sorry she had been in the bottom two of the competition twice due to viewers not picking up the phone and voting for her.
Speaking on the show, he asked: "Alexandra, you've been in the bottom two how many times now?"
"Twice now," she replied.
Chris continued: "Now you were quite upset and rightly so, and I would like to apologise on behalf of Great Britain because we forgot to vote for you and that's all it was.

"And I know you took it to heart and I came on the radio the next day and I said, 'I think that she thinks something is not right.'"
"We just didn't think we needed to vote for you," he added.
Alexandra, clearly touched by his apology, said she understood why she was in the bottom two, commenting: "That's what Strictly have said to me.
“If you are at the top of the leaderboard, people do think you are safe and the thing is, if I was someone who was watching, I wouldn’t vote for someone who was at the top.”

Chris agreed: “You vote for people you’re worried about going out or think deserve another chance.”
Alexandra, 29, was joined by her professional partner Gorka Marquez, 27, on the show and their interview came after Joe McFadden, 42, made a huge finale blunder yesterday.
Whilst chatting to Chris, the Holby City star said that one celeb would not get to perform all of their routines but Katya Jones stepped in to correct his mistake.
Strictly Come Dancing Final airs Saturday on BBC One at 6.30pm.
