Dy Speaker of British Columbia calls on Punjab Speaker

Deputy Speaker of British Columbia Legislative Assembly Raj Chouhan on Tuesday  called upon Punjab Vidhan Sabha  Speaker Rana KP Singh to explore the possibility of establishing a mutual arrangement or partnership agreement between Legislative Assemblies of both the states.

During his half an hour long interaction, he handed over a draft partnership agreement to Rana KP Singh besides discussing various issues being faced by both the Houses.

He also conveyed that the Speaker and the clerk of Legislative assembly of British Columbia would like to visit Chandigarh to meet Rana KP Singh to finalize the partnership agreement.

Conveying congratulations to Punjab Chief Minister  on the behalf of Premier of British Columbia, Chouhan said that John Horgan expressed hope that the overall development of the state would witness a boost under the able leadership of Capt Amarinder Singh.

He further added that Horgan is also interested in strengthening the bilateral ties, trade relations and cultural relations between the two states.

Welcoming Chouhan, Rana KP Singh said that it was a matter of pride that Punjabis like him attained height in various fields at Canada.

He said that the initiative taken by the Speaker of British Columbia Legislative Assembly would be a learning experience for both states as legislatures of the both states can learn many things from each other.

He promised that he will examine the draft agreement offered by the Speaker British Columbia to move ahead in this direction.
