Thirty-eight cadets come out of CRPF training college in flying colours

Coimbatore: The 90th batch of 38 directly-appointed subordinate officers (DASO) came out of the Central Training College, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), in the city in flying colours on Wednesday.

The trainees were put through a rigorous training that was systematic and well-researched. It included indoor and outdoor activities using advanced teaching methodologies. Subjects such as internal security and global terrorism were taught to them. They were also trained to face the present day challenges and various methods to be adopted to resolve problems faced by the world.


Extensive jungle exercises were also organised to help them counter naxalite movements and other anti-national organisations. They were also taught subjects such as human rights, gender bias and other social issues.


Awards were given away by Satish Chandra Verma, IGP and principal of the training institute. Sub-inspector Chandan Kumar won the all-round best and best in indoor awards. Anshu Sirohi won the best in outdoor and best in endurance awards. Vaibhav Dixit won the best firer award.


CRPF, world's largest para-military force, has 241 battalions including 10 rapid action force, 10 COBRA battalions and six mahila battalions. Right now, 20,000 recruits are under training.
