A baby girl is in critical condition after a violent incident early Wednesday in Toronto.
Toronto Police say officers were called to a building at Sherway Gardens Rd. and Evans Ave. in the city’s west end around 8:35 a.m. They found a man and a four-month-old baby injured, and said a woman was wanted in a stabbing.
The girl was unconscious and taken by emergency run to Sick Kids hospital. Police later in the day said the child’s injuries were not attributed to stab wounds. How she was injured was not released.
The man suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
A woman, believed to be the attacker, fled but was taken into custody a short time later. Police said she is suffering from serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Const. David Hopkinson would not comment on the relationship between the three people or any charges.
Det. David Knowles would not confirm this was a domestic incident.
Police officers were working three scenes: The parking garage, outside elevators in the lobby, and inside a unit.
