Debt-ridden tenant farmer ends life

GUNTUR: A tenant farmer committed suicide by consuming pesticide in a farm at Guthikonda in Piduguralla mandal on Monday. He died while undergoing treatment in a private hospital at Narasaraopet in Guntur district on Tuesday.  According to sources, S Jogi Babu (35) committed suicide by consuming pesticide in a farm.

The locals immediately rushed him to a private hospital at Piduguralla. He was later shifted to a private hospital in Narasaraopet where he died while undergoing treatment.
Jogi Babu had taken two acres of land on lease and cultivated paddy. He incurred crop loss worth `2 lakh. Unable to repay debt, he committed suicide. He is survived by wife and two children.
