BENGALURU: This is the season to be jolly and definitely to look your best. Basics including black dress and white dress make the cut to qualify for holidays but if there’s one thing 2017 has taught us, it is, there is always more. So let us not conclude the year with boring wears but rather style it up with the year’s best highlights.

Metallic skirt or pants: The satin silk material speaks for itself and it is a comfort party circuit. Try metallics on denims or pair it with another metallic. It will not be a disappointment. Golden or rose gold hues have taken over the silver metallic but that too is a jolly choice. Whether you opt for heels or basic white kicks, the metallic will not forget to keep the party season rolling. A metallic head band will also keep the celebration spirit constant. A sheer metallic top will also help end the season in the chicest of fashion.

Glitter it down: The year may have been of sparkles but gone are the days when dressing head to toe in shimmer was a party contender. It is now much wiser to pair sequence skirt or pants with basics of blazer and a suit attire. A professional look with a hint of being party-ready is the trick to look celebration-ready, even at work.

Tuxedo dress: Priyanka Chopra of course made the statement of trench coat dress/gown. But the new emerging fashion is a tuxedo dress that makes the holiday season an uber sophisticated party. The best part of tuxedo dress is that you won’t be needing a coat or a jacket to keep yourself warm.

Greens and reds: Greens and reds have been a Christmas-favourite because it resonates much with the trees and Santa season. It is a great idea to opt for colour of the season and it cannot get truer than green and red during December holidays. While a red dress is suitable for all parties, green in particular can be slightly tricky with the hues. This year a dark emerald green with glitter and accessories can be marked. Even better if it is an elegant wrap dress.

Winter florals: Like I have mentioned in my previous column, florals will never go out of fashion. So now it is time for winter florals in monochromatic hues and head-to-toe floral wears such as jumpsuits and ball gowns.

Velvet suit: It has been emphasized enough that the suit has taken over women wardrobe, velvet suit has marked another decree of being fashion forward. Keep it smoking and sleek in a black, red or jewel tone velvet suits as seen on Zendaya and Cate Blanchette, which can be rocked on the runway as well as on the streets.
