Why BSP leaders averse to singing national song, asks BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party has questioned as why Bahujan Samaj Party leaders were averse to singing Vande Mataram and asked party’s national president Mayawati to clear the cloud on this issue.

“This is disgraceful to know that BSP Mayors in Meerut and Aligarh have opposed singing of National Song in the House. Why this happened? When country takes pride in singing Vande Mataram why BSP members opposed it,” BJP spokesman Manish Shukla said in a statement issued here on Tuesday.

He said that during freedom struggle the fighters sacrificed their lives singing this Song and now this is unfortunate that BSP leaders are shy of singing this song.

“Party’s national president Mayawati should clear cloud over this issue. She should tell the world whether BSP is in favour of singing Vande Matarm or not,” he said.

He also hailed Yogi Government’s decision to provide houses for the weaker section of the society. “This Government is working for the welfare of people. It has introduced pro-people and pro-farmer policy and the results for everyone to see,” he said.
