After the near ones of a 35- years- old woman who died after delivering a baby on Monday following excessive bleeding at a primary health centre in Laldhang area vented anger outside the PHC on Tuesday morning, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Haridwar ordered a probe into the death and suspended two staffers.
The relatives of the deceased said that the death was caused by negligence. “Time was lost as the district mahila hospital refused to admit her and we rushed her to the primary health centre at Laldhang after her condition worsened. But it was too late. She died on the way,” said one of the angry relatives.
The CMO Ashok Kumar Gairola said that taking a serious note of the death, suspension orders for two ANMs(Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery) have been issued. “An inquiry has been constituted too to probe the death,” he added.
