BBC Breakfast: Viewers STUNNED as Dan Walker swipes at Louise Minchin: '50-year-old bird'
DAN WALKER left co-host Louise Minchin gobsmacked after making an embarrassing comment on BBC Breakfast today.
The presenter had been discussing Christmas decorations with Louise, 49, when he made a misjudged remark.
As the pair spoke about the oldest ornaments belonging to viewers at home, Louise suggested fans of the show send in pictures of their own adornments .
Before Dan abruptly interrupted and turned to her, saying: “Yeah, your 50-year-old bird.”
“I honestly got rid of it,” replied Louise, before business presenter Steph McGovern, 35, and journalist Sonali Shah, 37, began giggling.

Yeah, your 50-year-old bird.
Speaking directly to Dan, Louise snapped: “Honestly sometimes, I’m not 50!”
Seemingly embarrassed by the gaffe, Dan began to pull faces at the camera and jokingly gestured the film crew to stop recording.
The 40-year-old’s slip-up didn’t go unnoticed, as eagle eyed viewers were quick to point out his mistake, with one tweeting: “Louise is a 50-year-old bird (nearly).”
“@mrdanwalker did you just call @louiseminchin a 50-year-old bird?,” added another.

This comes after viewers accused Dan Walker of “dumbing down” the news.
Yesterday the presenter had been slammed for his coverage of man flu by some viewers watching at home.
One fan of the show was left raging about the topic of news, with them writing: “@BBCBreakfast PLEASE can we have some news. Dan Walker stop dumbing it down. It’s not like there’s no news to report.”
BBC Breakfast airs weekdays on BBC One at 6am.
