HYDERABAD: A fortnight after she spent two days in Hyderabad, Ivanka Trump, it appears, is still savouring the time she had at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES-2017). Out of the blue, the advisor to US President Donald Trump tweeted on Wednesday saying: "It was an honor to participate in @GES2017 in Hyderabad, India with 1,200 brilliant and passionate entrepreneurs from around the world, including our delegation of 350 Americans! Thank you Prime Minister Modi and the people of India for the warm hospitality." And then added 'Dhanyavad" in Hindi at the end of her tweet.
Ivanka Trump had arrived on November 28 and had dinner with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the famed Falaknuma palace. The PM had hosted the dinner for GES delegates who came from across the world. The following day, Ivanka participated in two sessions at the HICC. One of the sessions was moderated by IT minister K T Rama Rao. Before leaving, Ivanka Trump drove down to the 800-year-old Golconda Fort and spent quite sometime there taking a leisurely stroll.
People of Hyderabad celebrated Ivanka Trump's visit to the city for more than one reason. The city was spruced up for her visit and all the damaged roads had been repaired. Several thoroughfares were beautified.
The fact that her India visit mattered to her was demonstrated by Ivanka's tweets even before the GES began. She tweeted more than twice how much she was looking forward to meeting entrepreneurs from across in Hyderabad. Ivanka Trump left an impression on the delegates from across the world who had come to take part in the GES as she spoke about women empowerment and encouraging entrepreneurship. During the inaugural, she also got to 'meet' robot 'Mitra' which welcomed her and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Ivanka Trump also shared a one-minute video of the GES summit - she delivering the address there, participating in the discussions, speaking with Prime Minister Modi, going around the venue meeting entrepreneurs and also shots of the city.
