Rajshahi bus collision kills 3

Rajshahi : Three people were killed and 15 others injured in a bus collision on the Dhaka-Rajshahi highway in Godagari upazila on Wednesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Shuvo,28, son of Soukat Ali in Porsha upazila of Naogaon district; Achhia Begum, 65, wife of Mojid Molla in Nachole upazila of Chapainawabganj; and Harunur Rashid in Sapahar of Naogaon.

Godagari Police Station's OC Hifzul said a Dhaka-bound bus of Ekata Enterprise collided head-on with a Chapainawabganj-bound bus of Hridoy Travels near Matikata Degree College at about 8:30am, leaving Hridoy Travels' staff Shuvo dead on the spot.

Harunur Rashid died on way to hospital while Achhia at a hospital.

The injured were taken to Premtoli Health Complex in Godagari and Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

The condition of two was stated to be critical, the OC added.
