The Georgia Dome implosion wasn't a total failure like Detroit's Pontiac Silverdome, but it also wasn't a total success.
When the dust cleared, the east wall of the Georgia Dome was still standing. The crew called it a "glitch," and they would determine how to address completing the demolition in the coming weeks. Luckily for everyone who loves dramatic stadium collapses, there will be a second implosion.
The Georgia Dome's Twitter account announced Wednesday that the supplemental implosion will take place on Dec. 20 at 9:30 a.m.
Of course, the first attempt turned viral when a MARTA bus perfectly blocked a Weather Channel cameraman's view of the implosion. This time, though, there will not be any designated public and media staging areas. Media will have to find a shot that MARTA can't block.
The good news is that chances of MARTA being on time twice seem slim.
