Winter weather forces school boards to cancel Grade 8 open houses

The snowy forecast has prompted local school boards to postpone Grade 8 open houses and information nights planned for Wednesday night.

The snowy forecast has prompted local school boards to postpone Grade 8 open houses and information nights planned for Wednesday night. 

The Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board has cancelled a Grade 8 open house at Assumption College High School and Assumption College Middle School. It has been rescheduled the open house for January 18 at 6:30 p.m.

The Greater Essex County District School Board has also cancelled the Grade 8 information night at Tecumseh Vista Academy. That event is now scheduled for Jan. 10 at 6 p.m.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning with 15 cm forecasted to accumulate Wednesday in Windsor and Essex County. The snow is expected to continue falling until about midnight.
