New Delhi: LG Electronics on Wednesday launched its "V30+" smartphone for Rs 44,990 on amazon.in, expanding its flagship "V" series.

The device follows the trend of bezel-less, almost in line with the latest OnePlus 5T device. The 6-inch QHD+ device flaunts an almost bezel-less aspect ratio of 18:9 for an immersive viewing experience.

The device's killer feature the water-resistant IP68 resistant feature this time sounds all the more power-packed thanks to a MIL-STD-810G rating that ensures shock resistance.

Kim Ki-wan, Managing Director, LG Electronics India, said in a statement, "the 'V30+' is an amalgamation of some great features that will lure all tech lovers. It is a great blend of many industry-first offerings."

The device continues with some of the software enabled features such as a Floating Bar interface, Always-On Display feature that continue from the other V-models. Besides these, it promises a face unlocking feature, which although may not be quite an enthusing bit, but still is in demand after the likes of Apple introduced them.

More to Power

The V30+' gets powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core Snapdragon SOC chipset, mated to a 4GB ram, and 128 GB onboard storage.  While four cores have been clocked at 2.45GHz, the other four are clocked at 1.9GHz.

The storage can always be expanded to 2TB through an SD card option, with a hybrid dual-SIM configuration.

The company claimed that at 158 grams, the 'V30+' is the lightest among all smartphones heavyweights from the 6-inch category.

On the display front, the V30+ promises a FullVision OLED display with a pixel density of 638ppi. The display gets protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

The box comes with dual SIM connectivity, wireless charging and a 3,300mAh battery. The phone comes with a built-in "Hi-Fi Quad DAC", with sound tuning by B&O Play.

Other connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, USB Type-C (v3.1), FM radio, GPS/ A-GPS, and yes "the" 3.5mm headphone jack for those who swear by their earphones  or headphones.

Sensors on board include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, and proximity sensor.

Like the Samsung S8 devices, this one too bears a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel, which might be quite a tricky position for a 6 inch display unit.

Camera

The device sports a dual camera module with 16MP standard-angle sensor and a 13MP wide-angle sensor. The former is supported by Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) and hybrid auto-focus.

A laser autofocus is what company officials pointed for the rear camera, which arrives with a dual-LED flash. The IP68 resistant device has a safeguard for its camera too. The rear camera shooters get protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

The front camera is a 5-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and a 90-degree wide-angle lens.

Company officials also told that the f1.6 aperture camera lens, glass crystal clear lens, OLED "FullVision" display and "Cine Video" modes would help produce movie-quality videos.
