BENGALURU: Product engineering services company Axiscades has appointed Mritunjay Singh as its chief executive bringing the fourmonth-long hunt to a close. He will commence his work on January 2, 2018.

Axiscades former CEO, Valmeeka Nathan, quit in January 2017, but continued as non-executive director on the board before moving on in September 2017.

"With the selection of CEO, we have completed the process for the next growth phase of the company," said Sudhakar Gande, vice-chairman of Axiscades. "Singh will lead Industry 4.0 technology initiatives of the company that focuses on aerospace and defence".

Until recently, Singh served as the executive director and president heading the services business of Pune-based Persistent Systems. As the COO of Persistent, Singh was responsible for operations across products, platforms and services.

"I am extremely excited about our opportunities in aerospace and defence sector. Looking forward to build a new-age engineering technology powerhouse that we all can be proud of," Singh said in a statement. Though a large part of Singh's experience has been in services, Gande said that the new CEO would understand Axiscades' positioning as he has worked in a large company like Infosys and a mid-sized company like Persistent Systems.
