NEW DELHI: Hardik Patel's former aide Dinesh Bambhani has alleged the Patidar quota agitation leader had secret meetings with Congress president-elect Rahul Gandhi and his brother-in-law Robert Vadra, reported Times Now.
Patel reportedly admitted to Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) leaders that he had four secret meetings with Gandhi scion, in one of which, Vadra was also present. The meetings were reportedly held in five-star hotels.
The 24-year-old Patidar leader is supposed to have confessed to core PAAS members that meeting Rahul and Vadra "was a mistake", said Patel's former aide.
Bambhania said to Times Now that Patel should come clean on what transpired at these meetings.
However Patel rejected all claims made by his former aide, reported ANI.
"Tomorrow they can even claim I met Nawaz Sharif, then they will say I met Dawood Ibrahim", retorted Patel.
Earlier, leaked CCTV footage showed Patel entering and exiting a room in a five-star hotel to meet Congress leaders. Hardik denied the charge and threatened to file a police complaint over breach of his "privacy and security".
On the eve of voting for the first phase in Saurashtra-Kutch and South Gujarat, Bambhania parted ways with Patel, saying that he was disgusted with him for side-lining the core issue of reservation for Patidars.
