NEW DELHI: Over 50 stocks, including Balkrishna Industries, GAIL (India), GM Breweries, Hinduja Ventures and Hindustan Unilever hit fresh 52-week highs on NSE in Wednesday's trade.

LCC Infotech, Larsen & Toubro Infotech, Pidilite Industries, Prabhat Dairy, Provogue (India), Samtel Color, Titan Company and Weizmann also figured among the stocks that hit fresh 52-week highs today.

On the contrary, Bharati Defence and Infrastructure, Diligent Media Corporation, Electrotherm (India), Max India, PTC India Financial Services and Shilpi Cable Technologies were among those 12 stocks that hit fresh 52-week lows on NSE in Wednesday's trade so far.

Equity benchmarks were trading up, erasing the losses of the morning session. The Nifty50 index was 42 points up at 10,282, while the BSE Sensex was 115 points up at 33,343 around 12.50 pm (IST).

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 38 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red. One stock appeared unchanged.

Shares of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bharat Petroleum Corporation, Indian Oil Corporation, Bharti Infratel and Hindustan Unilever were among the top gainers in the Nifty50 index.

However, Vedanta, HCL Tech, Power Grid, Adani Ports SEZ, ICICI Bank and Bajaj Finance were among the losers.
