Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Ajay Singh said that the people of the state want change and this has been indicated in the Chitrakoot by-election. He was addressing a Kisan Swabhimaan Andolan at Sidhi on Tuesday.
He said that the provisions which have to be made after a region was declared ‘Drought Hit’, was never done and farmers were never provided with compensation.
In the campaign, Singh counted the issues faced by farmers and alleged that farmers are committing suicide due to drought and negligent attitude of government towards conditions of farmers and a 27-point memorandum of issues faced by farmers was handed over to the administration officials.
The people of state feel cheated who were flattered in the 12 years tenure of CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan and 14 years reining of the state by BJP.
The state secretary of BSP Vinod Verma took membership by paying Rs 575 and receipt was handed over to Verma by Ajay Singh. At the event, several supporters of Verma also joined Congress.
At time of the Chitrakoot by-election, to woo the voters, the Chief Minister had declared a package of Rs 1700 crore and more than 10,000 names were included in BPL list but after the election, CM Chouhan failed to keep his promise and nothing was done.
Two BJP legislatures Kedar Shukla and Shankarlal Tiwari support the State government over budget in the State assembly, but they too accept that CM’s announcements were are never implemented.
