ALLAHABAD: Hectic preparations are on at the campus of MNNIT (Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology) for the upcoming visit of the President Ram Nath Kovind. The President would be arriving at the 14th convocation ceremony of this lone NIT of the state, on December 15.
Addressing the media persons, director MNNIT, Prof Rajeev Tripathi, shared his vision and the achievements of the Institute. He informed that while the Chief Guest of the convocation would be president, the guests of honor shall be Governor of the state, Ram Naik and the CM, Yogi Adityanath.
While addressing the media personals, Prof Tripathi shared that MNNIT Allahabad has created a coveted niche for itself in the field of education, research, industry-institute interface and in its reach to society at large.
Dean academics, Prof Ramesh Kumar Tripathi, informed that around 655 degree recipients, working in different parts of the country and abroad have already confirmed their participation. He further informed that 875 BTech, 337 MTech, 90 MCA, 38 MBA, 16 MSc, 7 MSW, students and 78 PhD. scholars will receive the degree in various disciplines.
Among the graduates, 80 foreign students admitted through DASA, 03 through Ministry of External Affairs and 02 students through Indian Council for Cultural Relations shall be receiving the degrees. 30 Gold Medals will be given to postgraduate students, and 24 sponsored Gold Medals for deserving students.
Four TCS Gold Medals shall be awarded to Abhyudaya Anand, Adarsh Pandey, Kunal Sharma and Amish Kumar of Computer Science and Engineering department for best project and Aman Verma shall be awarded as best Student.
While highlighting the achievements of girls, Prof Tripathi informed that out of the total 1441 degree recipients, 259 are female students, as well as 23 gold medals have been bagged by girls under various programs.
Institute overall year-wise toppers are Piyush Chandra Chaturvedi and Aman Sharma of Mechanical Engineering, in BTech, Fourth and Third year, respectively. The second and first year overall topper in BTech are Stuti Jain and Muskan Srivastava of Computer Science and Engineering, respectively.
