Grabban, 29, is spending the season with the Black Cats and has 11 league goals for the campaign.
But Premier League outfit Bournemouth have an option to recall him next month.
And the Cherries are planning to bring Grabban back with a view to selling him.
A transfer to Wolves could be on the cards.
According to the Evening Chronicle, the Championship leaders have contacted Bournemouth about a deal.
Aston Villa are also interested in Grabban, who cost Sunderland nothing to take on loan.
Villans boss Steve Bruce needs a striker because star man Jonathan Kodjia is sidelined with an ankle injury.
Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe yesterday revealed he will hold talks with Grabban about his future.
"We will make the right decision for him and for us.” Howe said.
“I think it will be something we will sit down and talk about.

"We have got some excellent strikers here.
“I have got some real options in that position, especially when you consider you have got the quality of Lys Mousset who is out of the squad at the moment.
“That is something for a later date when we will have a chat with Grabbs.”
