BENGALURU: Tired of city life and need a quick escape? Head to some of these selected farming places in and around Bengaluru and explore how farm animals are taken care of and crops are grown

Active Shadows
The farm is a convenient retreat and in the heart of the city. The chikoo orchard is home to ducks, rabbits, turkeys, sheep, cows and silkie bantum. Events and camps are regularly organised for children and adults alike. Private events such as birthdays and corporate outings are also arranged.

The Martin Farm
The Martin Farm hosts a variety of domestic and farm animals, including donkeys, goats, cows, a pony, rabbits and dogs. Bird-lovers will delight in brood of ducks, chickens, finches, emus, pigeons and bantams. Children get to participate in the feeding of some animals, and may be encouraged to pet some animals. There is also a playground area including basketball court and swings, see-saws, a jungle gym and a slide.

Silver Oak Farm
En route to Nandi Hills, Silver Oak Farm offers an easy getaway to city dwellers who want to soak in the green. The traditional route and the location of the place makes it an ideal trek destination. There are as many 25 varieties of fruits grown including strawberries, litchi, custard apple and guava. Livestock and pigs are reared as well.

Rare Earth Farm
Located  60 kms from city, the farm holds strong values of sustainability and uses eco friendly choices to run the farm including running water and segregating waste. Farm activities such as growing crops can be done as well as petting farm animals.

A massive fire broke out at a biscuit factory near Bairamalguda in the LB Nagar limits, Hyderabad in the early hours of Tuesday.The fire department was alerted immediately by the locals who noticed the flames and the fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the flames.With the fire so massive, two more fire tenders were called in to bring the situation under control.
