Rajkot: A total of 2,400 bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 12.72 lakh were seized from a truck and a car near Charakhadi village on Gondal Road on Wednesday afternoon.
Five persons were arrested in this connection. The seizure and arrests followed a tip-off about the truck and the car carrying liquor.
"We seized 2,208 IMFL bottles from the truck and arrested Rahim Munshi, a resident of Rahimnagar in Una of Gir Somnath district, and Nitin Devnani, a resident of Kalavad Road in Rajkot," an official from Gondal taluka police station said.
From the car, police seized 192 IMFL bottles and arrested driver Mehboobkhan Pathan, a resident of Gandhigram area in Rajkot, as well as Rasik Musukpara, a resident of Shram Quarters in Rajkot and Hamir Deraiya, a resident of Bhavani Chowk in Rajkot.
