PETER KAY net worth: The comedian today cancelled his highly anticipated 2018 tour, Dance for Life shows and all live work due to "unforeseen family circumstances".
Peter Kay, the 44-year-old comedian from Farnworth in Bolton, has delighted the UK with his comedy for years.
Rising to fame in 1996, he is an award-winning stand-up, comedic actor and writer.
He has won BAFTA TV Award for Best Male Comedy Performance, the BAFTA TV Award for Best Scripted Comedy and the National Television Award for Best Comedy for a recent project Car Share.
He created the Channel 4 sitcom Phoenix Nights, which won the People's Choice Award at the British Comedy Awards 2002.

Last month, Peter Kay announced a 25 date tour across the UK, but today he was sadly forced to cancel.
Writing in a statement on his Facebook page, Peter Kay wrote: "Due to unforeseen family circumstances, I deeply regret that I am having to cancel all of my upcoming work projects.
"This unfortunately includes my upcoming stand-up tour, Dance for Life shows and any outstanding live work commitments.
"My sincerest apologies. This decision has not been taken lightly and I'm sure you'll understand my family must always come first.

"I’ve always endeavoured to protect my family’s privacy from the media. I hope the media and pubic will continue to respect our privacy t this time. Once again, I’m very sorry."
His statement then ended with details for those who had purchased tickets to the tour. It said: "Customers for Peter Kay’s Live Areana Tour and Dance for Life shows will be refunded from their original point of purchase and any specific ticket queries should be directed to them.
“As Dance for Life is a charitable event in aid of Cancer Research UK, ticket holders may, if they wish, still donate to Cancer Research UK by visiting www.cancerresearchuk.org.”
